Each December, Pop Warner Little Scholars (PWLS) holds its national championships at Disney World in Orlando. In the past couple of years, PWLS has included Challenger exhibition games. The Consolidated Football Federation (CFF) wants our Carolina Challengers to have this opportunity!  It’s a great honor to participate in the national championship activities and a wonderful way to reward the kids for their work throughout the season.  In previous years, in addition to playing in their exhibition game, the Challenger participants got to be in the Main Street parade and enjoy Disney while it was closed to the general public for one evening.

We have already started the fundraising activities – we want to make sure any participant who wants to go is able to participate.  This is where we need your help. We have two excellent fundraising activities associated with the Rex Hospital Open being held at TPC Wakefield Plantation Thursday, June 9 through Sunday, June 12:

· Selling tickets to the golf tournament. Tickets are $10 each and we get ALL $10 for each ticket sold.
· Selling concessions at the Coke stands during the tournament. Locally, Coca Cola is working closely with the CFF to help us raise the funds needed to make the Disney trip a reality.

If you are interested in purchasing tickets to the golf tournament please contact Ashley Murphy.

We are setting up tentative concession stand shifts of 8 am – 11 am, 11 am – 2 pm, and 2 pm – 5 pm for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 9 – 12. Please contact Sally McCormick to let her know what shifts you can work.

Enlist your family and friends to help with these fundraising activities. They’re easy to do and have the potential to bring in significant funds!

PWLS National Championships

The 2011 PWLS national championships will be held Saturday, December 3 through Saturday, December 10. Last year, the Challenger exhibition games were held on Thursday. PWLS requires that each participant stay a minimum of three nights in a Disney resort and purchase a four-day park pass. Package prices are provided.
